Senior Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our tax and financial accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in compiling financial statements, ensuring tax compliance, and providing insightful analysis to support strategic decision-making for our valued clients. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, good people skills, and proficiency in various accounting software.

Duties

• Prepare and compile accurate financial statements using CaseWare.

• Prepare personal, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.

• Compile financial statements in accordance with accepted professional standards.

• Manage payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.

• Execute bank reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow records.

• Analyze accounts to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

• Use accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Simply Accounting, Profile, etc.

• Collaborate with other staff to provide financial insights that drive business performance.​

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

• CPA certification.

• 2+ years of proven post-designation experience as an accountant, preferably with a public accounting firm.

• Proficiency in accounting software is essential.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
